World’s Fastest Hot Tub Cadillac

This is an extremely unusual find — it’s certainly not your everyday Cadillac. A couple of guys bought a 1969 Cadillac Coupe DeVille for $800 and spent the 8 years since turning it into a hopeful to be the world’s fastest hot tub.

They stripped out the car and reinforced the frame to handle the hot tub integration — this was necessary to take the added weight of the materials and water. Using the original 472 V8 engine, the goal of this hot tub car is to reach over 100 miles per hour.

The water in the tub uses heat from the engine to heat the water up to 102 degrees Fahrenheit. The pool pump and filter were also fitted into the system. Yes, this is a real, functioning hot tub.

This crazy creation will be raced in August this year by the pair in hopes to set the land speed record for the world’s fastest hot tub. There’s no real reason why this couldn’t happen as the engine is more than capable of reaching that MPH, even with the added weight.

What’s hard to imagine is how safe that will be, but we’ll leave that one up to the track officials to work out. With the sloshing of water and no safety restraints, the idea of this hot tub Cadillac racing to reach a speed that fast is a little terrifying.

Do you think this Cadillac DeVille will land the title of the world’s fastest hot tub?
