Replacing Your Escalade High Mount Brake Light Assembly In Less Than 10 Minutes

Please note that we based this set of instructions on the 2002-2006 Escalade ESV. Yet, you may still be able to apply it to other Escalade models. Here’s how the replacement process goes:
- Unlock your Escalade. (Make sure the vehicle is off.)
- Open the back window.
- Don’t open the whole hatch. Just the window.
- You’ll see three Phillips screws at the top of the window. These screws are holding the high mount brake light assembly in place. Remove all the screws.
- Close the window.
- Remove the high mount brake light assembly by hand. Disconnect the wires from the brake light.
- Put the new high mount brake light assembly in place of the old one and then screw in place. Be sure to re-connect the wires.
- Turn on the Escalade.
- Have a buddy stand behind the vehicle with you in the driver’s seat. Hit the brakes and have your buddy tell you if the new light is working.
That’s all! The process is an easy and straightforward one.
